PODIATRY

Podiatry is a division of medicine devoted to the study or diagnosis and medical treatment of the foot, ankle and lower limb.

In our practice we specialise in sports injury diagnosis and management through biomechanical assessment, pressure plate analysis and digital custom made foot orthosis; nail pathologies; skin pathologies; shoe prescriptions, lower limb pain syndromes and diabetic foot and wound management.

We are dedicated to a multidisciplinary, best practice approach to ensure the best possible outcome for our patients.

LAUREN BROWN

PODIATRIST

Lauren completed a B Tech in Podiatry at the University of Johannesburg in 2011 and opened her private practice at the Netcare Waterfall City hospital in the same year. The following year she completed a holistic wound management course through Eloquent Learning Health (2012), helping her in advancing her skills in all fields of lower limb pathologies. She recently joined the digital revolution of custom foot orthotics with the addition of a barapodiatric system to her practice comprising of, a pressure foot plate, 3d foot scanner and hi-speed cameras for a hi-tech approach to lower limb biomechanics. Lauren is an active member of the Podiatry Association of South Africa and registered as a health care practitioner with the HPCSA.

Lauren is very passionate about her profession and is dedicated to best practice for her patients by empowering her patients with all the information at her disposal regarding their conditions, and the best possible treatment options. She strives to attend conferences, courses and talks to stay up to date with the latest medical advances in podiatry. She has special interests in podiatric sports medicine, nail surgery and diabetic foot and wound management.
